Yeah, you'll be fine. Cheap un-branded pads is what to look out for. Thats why we have this reg. If you can get a little heat into your pads when you start to use them in these cold conditions would be good too. Cold braking can be horrible. Just a few gentle stops will warm them up. :)

These modern comp pads are a generation ahead of the old Ferodo DS11 and Mintex M20 we used to have before. They simply did not work properly until quite warm and, I well remember, warming them up just before arriving for an MoT, then suggesting that the brakes be tested first.
I can honestly say that I use M1177 in my Rover 214Si and the friction from cold is fine. The carbon-metallics in my 'S' (from Mini Spares) are the finest pads I've ever used in any Mini.
