You're doing a good job on this!

Where did you get the shopping trolley? Seems like a good idea, but I found they are about £300.

You're far too innocent...

Tiny bit of progress today. Got the other rear quarter light blanked
Posted Image

And mocked up the rear end, just to remind myself what it looks like.. The wheels will be a bit bigger..

Well I've taken 4 days off work, and am attempting to get the floors done.

First I made a sheet metal folder, to save a bit of money making simple panels.

Before
Posted Image

After. The metal cost me £4.00, a bit cheaper than the alternative in Machine Mart and works ok, so jobs a goodun.
Posted Image

First bit to tackle was the rear floor section. Was slightly rusty.
Posted Image

Heelboard end was rusted so cut that out and replaced.
Posted Image
Posted Image

Almost non existent D pillar bottom
Posted Image

New section made and welded in
Posted Image

I bought one seat box end piece, so I could copy it and make the other side.

Mine is the one on the left.
Posted Image

Fitted
Posted Image

Closing panel made and fitted
Posted Image

Other side wasn't as bad, but got the same treatment.
Posted Image
Posted Image

Centre section was holed, so cut that out and replaced.

Flipping it over tomorrow and might get the bulkhead done.

Bulkhead next.. Due to RHD bulkheads not being available, I got LHD one and with a bit of jiggery pokery changed it to RHD.

One LHD bulkhead
Posted Image

Sections cut out and swapped round
Posted Image

Welded
Posted Image
Posted Image

Time to get rid of this mess..
Posted Image
Posted Image

Trial fitted, with self tappers.
Posted Image

Chassis dug out of storage, and body put on top to align bulkhead and floor panels.
Posted Image
Posted Image

A pillars were gone at the bottom, so went about repairing those with some scrap pillars.

N/S
Posted Image
Posted Image

O/S also
Posted Image
Posted Image

Off with the old sills
Posted Image

Quick alignment check with the doors on
Posted Image

And all zipped up
Posted Image

This is what I did to get around the *******-up earlier, fitting the seat box ends before welding the sills in..
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image

and on with the floor pans
Posted Image
Posted Image

That's all for this now. Didn't get round to doing the A panels, will wait til next year, along with upper bulkhead and the front end.

Happy Yule folks! :)

Nice to see a 2CV being saved. A previous neighbour had a 2CV Dolly alongside his Minor Traveller and loved the way it leaned heavily around corners

Last time we stayed in the south of France we saw more 2CV's driving home on the M25 than 2 1/2 weeks driving up, down and all around France.

Very nice work.
Did i spy a replacement alloy wheel in one pic?
I remember reading about someone that rallied one of these and used 4x4 6 bolt rims.

Yes they lean like mad round corners, but that's deliberate, it's impossible to roll one, unless you corner at speed, backwards.

As for the alloy wheel, that must have been something else, I'm keeping the steels. They handle best on the narrow wheels with tiny tyres.

Alright mate, brilliant looking project, i don't suppose you could send me some pictures of your steel bender and how you made it etc would really appreciate it . I've got a fair few panels to bend and bits and bobs and would rather make a good size bender like the one you made than buy a little one. Cheers
