I have a Red Mini dilemma !!

My 1991 main-stream Cooper is currently being refurbished and its time to decide on the look and style of the car.

Originally it was Flame red with a white roof, bonnet stripes and pinstripes with standard arches. I changed it to Flame red with a black roof, lost the strips and changed to W&P style arches. Wheels are currently some 13" minilite replicas.

I have been told by my mini mates that I should return it to Red and White as there are so few standard looking cars nowadays (interior is also pretty much standard), but this would mean getting hold of some 12" wheels and the stripes etc to do it properly. I've still got the original arches in the garage somewhere...........

I was thinking of going all red, roof and arches included, but hadn't made a decision on what type of arches. I was thinking Sportpacks, but they are hellish expensive for genuine, and I've seen the "quality" of some of the replicas.............. At one point I was thinking about Group 5's or the German Bullet type arches with visible bolts, but I'm not sure that will suit all-over red, although I do like iTomKart's "Lenny" a lot !! I think it could look a bit strange with all silver wheels, but I could put on a black grill, paint the wheel centers black/anthracite or I've got a set of '80's Compromotive 5 spokes which need painting, so maybe white, grey, black or any combination thereof..........

Or I could revert to red and black, get some replacement W&P style arches, or any of the others mentioned in black and leave as was.

I don't really think Group 2's with the chrome side trim suits the car without going to MK1 grill and rear lights (and central dash, seats etc), it's a '90's Cooper not a 60's one.

So decisions decisions !! Anybody care to comment or make a suggestions ??
