Perhaps go with the fibre front until you can do the metal and have the option of both? This is something I would like to do in the long run.
Looking good though Jordie.

Yeah I know it can, but for the time and effort spent repairing the front, i could buy a new front panel and have it done. Money is tight but also time. Id rather spend the money and have the panel for a quicker repair and the knowledge of that its going to last a lot longer than the repaired panel which is allready weakening.
Best phone round for some prices I guess.

Take one heritage clubman front panel
Cut a massive hole in your current front end
Drop said new panel into position
Bit of welding, then black paint to protect the bare metal areas until its proper paint job...voila!
Need to replace the stiffner as end was starting to rot...
Find out that brace bars dont fit, so cut, modify, weld, reinforce, drill holes and fit......note the powder coated shock brackets fitted, new track rod ends etc.
Also cut the fuel pipe to correct length in engine bay.
Repaired the pin holes in scuttle corners caused by the spot welds when removing front end.
Started fitting battery cable and some other odd jobs.
Tomorrow I think i will concentrate on mechnicals, need to replace LCB, fit gear linkage etc etc.

Clamped in place...
Bonnet resting on for now...
Semi fixed front - removable for the big jobs, but fixed in place majority of time. These are up n over catches from homebase, help pull the front in tight.
Issues with rod change and hole in the early floor pan. Resulted in a bodge welding a washer in place to keep it in position. Seeking advice what to do here, im thinking just plate over the hole and drill for the bobbins?
Wiring loom and coloum fitted. Engine cranks so all seems to be well.
Engine bay, looking tidy if abit dusty. Trying to keep all the wires neat under the scuttle, then down the side of the brace bar etc.
Next up is the NS door, this has been reskinned allready, so makes sense to start there. Some fitment issues though, seems the door check part on the door doesnt sit in the hole in the A post correctly. Will look better next time and see if its just because the door wasnt bolted in yet.
Feel like im doing loads but nothing to see for it.
- Front end brkts welded, A panel metal added to keep front in place.
- Wiring sorted inc earth screws and bulkhead panel screws.
- Manifold replaced and thermostat gasket.
- Gearlinkage fitted
- Battery cable fitted, shortened, stripped and reclamped.
- Earths fitted
- Steering col fitted and wiring connected, checked engine turns on key.
- Painted interior roof with rattle cans, wont be seen due to headliner.
- Throttle pedal fitted
- Engine steady fitted.

looking good there, all the small bit's, the ones you cannee see, are very important and all in good time the clubby will be just fine, as for the rod-change bit, I would tend to agree on plating it and re-drill for the bobbin holes, remote linkage was different, keep at it yr getting there

Tidied up and found loads of parts I can use on this.
Fitted bonnet hinges then decided to fit the one piece rear door. The door is brand new, old stock.
