ive just got the same head and seems to be pretty similar to this one,
dont think it skimmed,
dont have any calipers so i roughly measured it with a tape :L
will have to get my hands on a set of calipers from my old school, im sure they wont mind haha

what do you think?
needs a good clean..
and is ther another way of increasing cr without messing with the head??

That hasnt been skimmed, and in your case you need to skim both face anyway..
so do the proper calculation and aim for a CR beetween 9,75:1 and 10:1.

The MG metro cam shouldnt be lumpy, but it really depends on how good the engine has been set up in terms of advance and air/fuel ratio.

Jaydee,

I guess yours ended up okay? If I was betting, I would say mine had been dropped / left on the stud as the thread only seems to have worn on the top half.

Charlie

I replaced the studs, the one which replaced the wobbly stud didnt like to tighten up fully.
To be honest thats the only thing which didnt cause any real trouble lol, i had problems with the bypass and the cylinder head being skimmed to much for fitting aftermarket rollers (needs shimming).

I bought the 'A Series Builder DVD' by Bob Sollis and he had the same problem with having to shim the rockers so they sat correctly on the push rods.

Coop from what ive heard jus modify your hs4 inch and half. Thinn the butterfly shaft slight work in the leading and exit edge of piston and run ram pipe and a sock :)

I am using a HIF38 (HIF4).....but an HS4 would do as well. A HIF44 (HIF6) would be too much

I did have twin HS2's fitted. These did perform better in the slalom racing I was doing at the time ( better low down pulling )

Twin HS2's are awesome ;)
Failing that do the aforementioned modifications as detailed in Vizard on whatever you have, HS4 or HIF38 and you will be fine :)
