Public liability insurance for car clubs @ events

I have just been trawling the yellow pages and such like, ringing round places and eventually came across a company called Events Insurance who will actually provide the necessary cover, for a price. An annual policy is estimated at 200 pounds which covers upto 15 events per annum, or a per event cover of 80 pounds.
When you consider that this is for £2m public liability, not too expensive, but it is quite a burden to put on a Car Club with very limited resources.
I'm wondering how other car clubs manage this issue, and also TMF for that matter, or if anyone knows of somewhere else which is more affordable ???

Safmini are the same as Dazzler, we are with NFU and I think it was between 50 & 60 quid. I'll see if I can find the contact name for you.

Many shows require evidence of insurance if you want a Club stand so this is a must have unless we rule ourselves out of having a stand at such events.
Anyone else had the same experience and any suggestions as to who might be offering cover at a more reasonable rate. We had this problem 4 or 5 years ago when most insurers were imposing minimum premiums of around £200 - £250 and NFU happened to be offering a more reasonable scheme.
We are a small club and this amount is just disproportionate to our membership!
Thanks

We have just got our renewal quote through from NFU and it has gone up from less than £100 last year to almost £250 this year for £ 2.5m of cover.

I think you need to register as a trader to offer that service

It's good that TMF'ers watch out for one another and help police the forum, but I don't think a trader registration would add anything here.
