I'm going to build a 1293 engine and then supercharged it. My question is what pistons should I use I've found some hepolite +20 low comp pistons that say the ratio will be 8.8.1,

Some people say to use forged pistons then others say there not needed.

So not sure what to go for any advice would be great

Thanks

its all dependent on the power output that you are looking for?

hepolites arent majorly recommended for turbocharged or supercharged engines.

one of the best pistons around are omega which are more suitable for the engine your thinking of.

if your looking into less than 200hp then cast omegas should do the job.

a new set with rings can be picked up for around £340 i think

for peace of mind i would go forged .. but thats up 2 you

if you go 10cc dish piston and 26 cc chambers . you will have 8.7-1 .. so that shuld be good or 24cc chambers and you shuld still be fine

oh you can do what i did . get the .20 forged 16cc dish isas pistons from mini speed . then you dont have to touch the chambers with std chambers you will have 8.45-1

The cast Omegas are a good piston & well proven. On a standard block you'll find they sit around 0.040" down the bore, so they actually give about 14cc volume inc the dish.
