Frenched Rear Lights

hi, i have noticed a few frenching there rear lights on here, and some have done some excellent work! does anyone no if there are a kit you can buy?? or what lights are a good one to start with?

preferably would like round lights very similar to front bumper indicators??

i used landrover lights! Which are the same as the front indicators. Look at my project thread "project bogey finally begins" there is a photo on there of the ones i started! From searching i found one place that were selling them but i cannot remember where im afraid! If you make your own dont forget you need reflectors somewhere! Dan

What's frenching? Does it have anything to do with frogs legs or croissants?

lol! Not sure where the term frenching comes from think its because they are inspired from the euro scene. Frenched lights are basically like rear style morrettes! Mind you sayin that morrettes is a french term! Hmm! Give me an hour and i will see if i can get some pics up of the process of making mine! I used my old light units because if i ever sell my car or decide i dont like the lights anymore i can easily just swap them over!

i started with the standard units and the cut out two 3" holes

i cut two pieces of 3" pipe to a rough length and blanked one end then fibreglassed them to the units

then its just a case of cutting the tube back and putting filler around them

thanks afoggo! They took a while to get right! One is still in filler at the mo i havent got round to finishin them!

i frenched landrover lights , i formed a blanking plate and recessed two sections
of large exhaust pipe .

a hole saw or you could use a jigsaw.
