Okay, So I've often had the opinion (probably shared by most) that seat covers are poor quality / fitting and generally look tacky. However, I was in Halfords yesterday and noticed a decent looking set for a not-so-bad price.. they accept refund so I thought I'd give it a go.

It was this exact set: http://www.halfords....yId_165658#dtab

and here are the results:

They stretch over and hook all the way underneath the seat. I have cable tied the straps in place, the rear seats and backrest are easier to attach when out of the car, plenty of stretch in them and easy to secure underneath/behind.

You can barely see where the seat cover ends, they go all the way over the front seats (front and back of it in the rear) and you can poke the headrests through too, they even supply little plastic eyelets to cover the headrest holes you make. Comes with the headrest covers too!

They feel nice to the touch, a vinyl leatherette and suede.

I will get a better picture of the rear seats when the sun goes down a little more, really hard to get evenly exposed pictures right now with the sun shining through! Boiling in there as well lol.

I think they have a few different colours, I recommend for a re-trim on a budget! :)

Looks good! I have been looking into this for a while and it seems to solve my problem :)

Are they covering the original seats?

Thanks :)

Yes, they are over the original seats! It would probably take about 15 minutes to take them all off if needs be and it would be back to standard again.

Now my seats and rear bench match somewhat with my new door cards :D

As promised!

The rear seat bench. I plan to take the back off again when I have some time and stretch it more vertically to remove the horizontal bunching, due to pointy bits on sides of door cards!

The back view of the rear sets (through rear windows). The zips are to add/remove another strip of black vinyl down the middle (I removed one for a better fit)

and as a whole!

A lot of the lines in the material is from where it has been kept in a plastic case for display, will straighten out after more use!

I'm happy with them :)

leatherette and suede can look great when fitted properly.
I'd fit some extra foam under those covers so they will have a 'softer' feel and look less stretched :)

Look alright to be honest, they fit quite well. Can't decide what to do with my rear seats, getting them retrimmed costs way too much but the colour of them ruins the interior of my car :( I might just try this.

Can I recommend the following company who are based in Norwich. We bought a set of seat covers from them and the quality is superb and the price very reasonable. Service was excellent too. The man to speak to is Iain Kirk.

With respect to the company you have given there, it is still a lot of money - although I am sure the seat covers are a great quality and fit well though! The ones I have bought are an even cheaper alternative that might not be a complete solution but still a a decent temporary fix.

A full proper re-trim can be costly but an off the shelf item for good money is appreciated when it works :)
