Chrome mirrors to go with the trim?

not a fan of chrome mirrors, or many styles of mirrors in fact...

Then probably body colour?

Well I was going to update this yesterday but was very busy and got out the garage at 10.15pm and I wanted to do a proper update today but a few problems arose , I had today off to "crack on" with it.

The morning started off like normal, just a bit earlier, fitting bit's and bobs, like the rear view mirror, and door mirrors (door mirrors he says, but he has not fitted the doors yet - or has he), fitted the bonnet after a bit of a palava of minivation hinges and reverting back to the originals and then having to fit the bonnet stay hook and stuck the grille on. I then started it up again which it was running fine until I noticed a nice puddle of fresh fuel on the floor >_<. float valve lid thing off, back on, more fuel, back off, steal one off the running ritz and fit and no more fuel  :gimme:  >_<. at this point I was running late by about 10mins (11.25am).

Well done on a fantastic restoration - just read your whole thread and your attention to detail is amazing and your body building skills incredible. Luckily here in SA we don't have your rust problems to that degree.

I would just like to know what wheels these are and what width and offset.

regards

Rory

WHICH IT PASSED!!!!!!!!!   with no advisories if I may add...

So you may be thinking he was driving around all afternoon, nope was put back in the garage to sort out some niggles like steering wheel off centre slightly, the carb issue and more. all of which are still there >_<

will try and update date it properly one day.

Thank you very much , yeah I bet that does help

the wheels are 5x10" minators, I'm not sure on the offset (I will try and find out) they stick out a 'little'  ;D ' with no arches on with spacered drums on the back and 7.5" discs on front. heres the link to them http://www.minispare...|Back to search

I may have an update in the next couple of days on it, I've been doing bits to it but haven't really driven as it's got a running under load problem :mmkay:

Interior's pretty much done, homemade steering wheel centre, radio fitted and hidden internal aerial under the top dash rail and up the passengers door rubber. bracket for a 12v socket and switch for the door light. Just need to finish another gear knob thats being made.

IMG_1695_zpsthzgijsk.jpg

DSN door handles finally fitted, I had to make a couple of bits for the lock surround so it wouldn't push of with my puffy door cards.

I've got a few more bits to do before rivera run next weekend!!

Funny that - I backed my door cards with 9mm foam (which is about 6mm too much) my door lock surrounds won't clip in either - thinking of gluing them on?

I could never get the ritz's ones to stay on even with near original thickness doorcards, The original plastic ones must wear out being put in and out the hole. The DSN ones have a nylon bit that fits in the original hole and the they surrounds push in there. Glues probably the easiest way, maybe a hot glue gun?

Cheers Ash, Did you see it at the rivera run?, we were there both days. Yeah, it's been a lot of work and still lots to do really . Lulu's off the road for the minute, has a "little" bit of rust in the boot floor around the subframe mount, but I'm going to try and get it welded in the next month or so.

Will try and stick up some picks from the riviera run, anybody got any?

I've still been doing bits to the car, I got it tuned by ac dodd at the riviera run which made it run a lot better. on the way bak from rivera run when it was raining we found the front screen leaked so the screen came out, sealant added and then re-fitted. When we removed the filler strip finishing things (says stainless steel but also says chrome in the minispares advert) they had already started to go rusty, they had only been in the rain once and been fitted 3 weeks!!!!!!!!!!! , so dad cut some stainless steel shim we had and bent it around a screwdriver and fitted them. The Gaz shocks were removed and brand new protech shocks fitted.  Theres still loads to sort out after driving it about which leads up to beauleiu mini day this weekend, we drove up on the saturday after changing the 10's to the ritz's 12's as the minilites were too wide and I didn't have the correct wheel nuts for my other 10's >_<

It was the first time I've been to the show, Was a great day and some great minis there. Mine ran perfectly all weekend just didn't make it back home today though >_< was about 10 miles away going along at 60mph and the passengers rear wheel bearing locked up solid  O_O, was very lucky with it.

Need a new tyre now, the white is from the white line I ended up stopping on and it melted to the tyre.
