Well it's been a while since I really did anything to him due to having to weld the Ritz for it's MOT and a few other things, But work should be starting again this weekend :gimme:.

A couple of things that I've bought:

And I finally got me a GB badge :D .

And as you can see it will need repainting as the black is permanent marker pen >_<. And will fill the holes and drill them again.

Should have a proper update this weekend.

An update :whistling:, saturday I did nothing to it as I had to do and oil and oil filter change, today I cleaned out most of the rubbish inside it, as it turned into a storage space and that's it :shy:.

Hopefully I can actually do some proper work to it next week.

Ok a bit of an update. bought an austin mk1 grille and inno surround (already had the mk1 moustache)

DSCF3531_zps5bacb2bc.jpg

I had two half days this weekend so Yesterday I set about repairing the wing.

Cut out and welded in a new peice on the front

DSCF3075_zpsbee21d00.jpg

I first cut off the scuttle end on the mounting lip and welded in a new peice then today i cut out the rectangle peice that needed replacing and welded in a new bit

DSCF3077_zps5d4a0e73.jpg

Cut off the scuttle curve and cut a new peice which had curved to pretty much the right shape from cutting it.

DSCF3070_zps2d446e07.jpg

Welded it on a spot at a time and cooled it down with a wet rag to prevent warping, and ground it down a bit.

DSCF3071_zps9ac8e6a7.jpg

I made this template before cutting out the rust so I know where the curve needs to go.

Thats about it for this weekend but hopefully will be able to finish most of it off on friday.

Thanks Zony, I did do a bit of work today, grinding down th welds and cut the curve, I am not going to finish it just yet as it is difficult to get the curve right so we are going to weld the scuttle on and weld on the lip after.

Fair enough, it just needs practice, a bit of time, it's pretty much just copying what has been cut out unless it's rusted away , I probably will wish that I bought new ones but it's cheaper this way and a lot more satisfying ;D. :D

I've a  bit more work over the past couple of days finally got the mk1 conversion panels off, did some wirebrushing and a bit of welding.

Wire brushed the door post and gave it a coat of kurust and primer.

and welded this.

Just looked through the whole thread alex and i'm feeling a little silly at the fact i,ve bought a load of panels   when i could have easyly wopped up a few £100 quids worth of pieces i,ve used >_<  live nd you learn i guess, although as for the mk2 i'm needing a few pe-made panels in certain areas haha

Great to see this is still very much moving forward and hope you can be up and running as soon as :proud:

Also: saw a comment of mine from back in 2012 that i dont even remember  , how time fly's by aye :goaway:

Cheers

Cheer's cliff,  Yep live and learn, Some panels are easy to make, Sometimes it's just as easy to buy the panels, I've certainly learnt alot from doing it.

It's not moving forward as much as I would like at the moment but other things crop up, but it will get done one day, I've thought when I'd like it done a few times, first being my 17th then that went to riv run 2013, now it's riv run 2014 I think But thats being optimistic i think

Haha, Some of the bits that I've done doesn't seem that long ago, but looking back some things were over a year O_O
