An update from the weekend:
I started to wire brush the bulkhead so that I can give it a coat of paint to prevent the rust, I still need to do the boot and the passenger footwell.

Then I started on the front panel at there was a few holes where I didn't have a spot weld drill so took the bumper Lip off with a chisel. So I drilled the holes bigger and filed them sqaurer so that i could cut out repairs.
Posted Image
Posted Image
So then I set about welding them in, which I didn't get very far ... The gas run out >_<.

Dad and I went and got some gas yesterday so i could crack on with a bit of welding.
Set the welder upand welded the front valance.

Then I set about replacing the patch on the passengers side subframe mount.
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image
With that cut out I made two panels, one for the inside peice and one for the outside.
Posted Image
To get the bevelled shape I cut out a semi-circle in a peice of wood and clamped the metal to it.

it still needs to be adjusted and curved slightly so that it can be welded in.

I had to make a new inner panel as the other didn't fit to the outer one. So with that made and the inside wirebrushed and kurusted, I welded them on.

With that welded in, I Started cutting out the rust in the inner wing.

There was loads of bloody spot welds

In the end I ground them off.

Not done much again, but other things have got in the way, We did try to remove the cones from the front subframe which didn't go to well as I stripped the threads, so we baught a m14 tap to tap the holes from unf to the metric size.
Anyway Today I carried on with the front panel. The drivers side subframe mount was rusty too, not as bad though.
Posted Image
Cut out the rust
Posted Image
Then I made a peice to fit, But didn't manage to weld it in.
Posted Image

We also made one extended seat bracket and Dad got the other parts ready to be made.

Impressive stuff! I'm liking how you are knocking up the repair panels where possible - that's a great way to learn!
