Nice repairs Alex, comming along nicely and your welding looks, as you say, much improved. I too got better and better with time and it's great to see you doing the same. It's nice when a section is finished and sorted as well as your sill and sub mount area. Nice one.

Graham

Thanks, My welds have definitely got better, and I find is alot easyer to do, I still need to practice welding upside down, So dad does most of that after I have tried. It makes such a difference when a area is sorted.

A bit of an Update, I made a start at cleaning the inner wing and also wire brushed in the boot so I could give it a coat of paint.
I also finished the plug welds on the boot floor/repair and ground them down (no pics).

I also found an small amount of rust in the boot that had previously been patched and covered in seam sealer, so that will need to be welded. (In the Corner)

Tomorrow I should be finishing the quarter panel which need's hammering and plug welding, then the arch repair bent into place.

Well done finding the small / big hole, many would have left the seam sealer. It's best cutting a bigger hole as u did and getting it all out.

Thanks, I was going to leave it at the circular hole then I thought I may Aswell put in a bigger piece while I'm at it. I'm going to clean the arches to bear metal and give them a thick coat of stone chip.

Well Today I did this:
Posted Image

I wasn't happy with the way the mk1 conversion plates were sitting and the way they are made, So I cut through the tacks. We are going to shape them better as compared to the original mk1's thy are no where near close.

Then I set about repairing this, I think it's been welded up before.
Posted Image
So I cut it out.
Posted Image
Made a repair piece and welded it in.
Posted Image
Posted Image

I found another small hole in the boot floor too so got the step drill and drilled it.
Posted Image
Made a repair piece, welded and ground the inside weld's

Comment's Welcome.
