Ahh i really really love my angel eyes! I have the red halo on at the mo and i asked my ex's dad (whos a traffic cop) and he thought that they were fine as long as i had the headlights on as well and wasnt just using them as side lights...

I'll get a pic of the at some point for ya!

Crystal lamps and plain fronted Agnel Eyes are properly called complex reflector headlamps. The beam shaping isn't performed by the bulb alone as that would be impossible rather it is achieved by the reflector surface being faceted to reflect the light only where it is needed.

And headlamps don't need to be E marked to be legal since the introduction of the SVA test (but it hasn't been updated into the motor vehicle lighting regulations yet). In the test to make it possible to privately import foreign spec vehicles without having to go to the expense of getting new headlamps made or tested a lamp will be permitted if it has the equivalent output to a unit bearing an approval mark, so if the beam shape is correct and the dip angle is right it should pass the MOT as well or it would be impossible to MOT SVA tested imports. I think that this only extends to headlamps though and not other lamps.

And as for a Policeman saying that coloured sidelights are acceptable, especially red ones, just pray you don't get pulled by any other more knowledgable Coppers. Or since he's your ex's dad maybe he's setting you up for a fall.....

It is very very illegal to display any red light from the front of a vehicle unless you are driving a fire engine. That includes interior lights, lighted badges or chavvy washer jets. There's very strict controls over what colours of light may be displayed where.

I'm running the Wipac H4 Conversion and for a light which is designed to perform you can't beat them.

I have also put 130/150 bulbs from demon tweeks with a relay'd switch and its like driving a nimble lighthouse. :withstupid:

These were only about 30 sheets aswell.

Having run Wipac and Angel i would go Wipac which are better, upgrade the bulbs at same time. But you could have a problem with running Angel sidelights with any colour other than clear (standard) but saying that i have Blue Side Lights on Blue Lens Angel Headlights with "Blue" bulbs an didnt get pulled once.

But that dont mean you should, it just means i wasnt pulled thats all.

(better safe than points)
