hi guys,

first time on this website for me (how did I not see TMF before as such an avid Mini fan is beyond me!) anyways, im looking to buy my first Mini. Hec, my first car! Ive always been a MASSIVE classic Mini fan, Im looking to save up about nearly £6000 over the next few months. Im 20, male, fully employed, and no yobbo scum! So Im hoping the insurance companies will see my puppy dog eyes and feel sorry for me ;D

Im looking to either get a 998cc (maybe a City or Mayfair) or the 1275. Should be able to get a decent mini for around £3500-£4000. Ive done a few quotes on comparison sites for around the £1600 mark. Just wondering if theres specialists that can give me a better quote? I reckon, by the time I turn 21 in May I would have quite a bit of money, but im wondering if my insurance quotes will go down a bit?

Also anyone looking to sell theyre Mini in the next few months (up to £4000) who live in the London area, and have a good condition Mini they want to sell me ;D offers are welcome (hint hint lol) ;D ;D .

Any information anyone has for me will be greatly appreciated! :D
thanks for your time guys, glad to be a new member of theMiniforum! Gotta say Im REALLY looking forward to posting you guys pictures of my eventual Mini over these next few months!
many thanks
Max

Insurance comes up quite regularly, hardly surprising. Have a search to get a better feel. Classic car policies are popular, but you might not accrue any no claims discount or be subject to limited mileage. Ring for a quote and you may get a better price than online, or a quote where you can't get one off the web. Do it before you look to buy then you'll know what to look for: age of Mini, engine size, modifications allowed....

There's plenty of insurers' adverts in the Mini magazines
