That Slick 50 stuff is an oil additive right? I'm sure that either on this forum or another one there were several people who said you should not use oil additives, those opinions coming from those pople who work at oil companies!

what does it do if you use it?and if you just used it the once to give your engine a good clean then would it have any lasting damage? if you know

Well I don't know what they do to other engines but in Mini's they are really bad news, especially any oil additive designed to clean your engine. Since the Mini's engine oil is also its gearbox oil it also cleans the gearbox. Which means it cleans all the oil out of the gearbox layshaft, mainshaft and speedgear bearings and out of the idler bearing. It's not good stuff though how much damage a single dose would do I have no idea.
