If I want REALLY low boost - I'll just use 998 pistons on my 1098 crank
hehe, that places them about 7mm down the bore!

The pistons would then smash into the head :nugget:If I want REALLY low boost - I'll just use 998 pistons on my 1098 crank

and how do you figure it would place them 7mm down the bore.
You know nothing and should not even consider trying to turbo an engine with a statement like that and the one where you said to use an angle grinder to cut the top off the main cap for a steel strap :nugget: :nugget: :nugget: :nugget:
You have no idea what you are doing do you

a low CR is not the only thing you need to run high boost!

oop - got that one majorly mixed up!!! :nugget:
998 crank, on 1098 pistons
1098 pistons have 7,08mm less metal above the gudgeoen pins than 998 pistons, because of the extra stroke on the crank
and as I said, I only heard of someone else doing that method for the centre strap, and then you pointed out that it may warp the metal (or something). Personally, I'm sending mine to Morspeed, since I'm also buying the strap+bolts from him, along with the bearings and piston rings
sheesh - everyone makes mistakes!

Mate you still got it wrong.
It is fairly obvious that you have no knowledge of basic mechanics. :nugget:
I think you should get some one else to build your engine, at least that way it'll actualy work :cheese:
