1256cc 4-door Saloon
Rolling Shell – perfect blank canvas for a retro RWD project. 1256, slant four, Pinto, V8, ca18det, sr20det, Redtop etc.
This was the donor car for the 1256 I’m rebuilding for my white HC. The engine and gearbox are not included, everything else is. What you see in the pictures is what you get.
The shell is very rot free, one of the better ones you will find. Arches, boot, boot lid, bonnet and engine bay are all in great condition. There is a hole in the drivers foot well that will need welding and one may well appear in the passenger foot well. Rear foot wells are good. Both rear inner arches have rusted through at the seatbelt mounts, this is typical for Vivas, my white one needs attention there too. Rear inner arches will also need a plate welding on both sides near the shock mount, see the pictures, it’s in a nice position to do. Having had a poke around I think a couple of very small holes may appear in the rear of the sills, but nowhere near needing a new sill. The underside has a layer of surface rust but is all solid, including chassis rails.
All standard 1256 suspension components. All looks solid and straight.
All chrome work bar the grille is there. Will need a good polish and has the odd ding and dent but it’s complete and will come up well.
All glass, lights and badges there.
Black dash in good condition with only one crack, missing the side pockets. Full set of black vinyl door cards, they’ll clean up to be in great condition. Front cloth seats, quite mouldy and with some tears. No carpet (available to buy new) or rear seats.
Car was dry stored for 10 years before I got hold of it. There’s little history but what there was, I have.
