Sorry for the really late reply, haven't been on for a while. There are a couple of places selling the stripes, but you will have to do a bit of googling, because I don't know how to post links. Mini and Moke World, Brookvale NSW and Minisport South Australia (where I got mine). They are produced on a product called Avery Paper (it's not paper), but there are several qualities of Avery Paper, 700, 800 or 900. Mine were made on the 700 variety. From the experts who put the stuff on, specify the 900 or at least the 800. It's easier to get on around the curves.

Good luck

It's been a while since the clubby was finished, November 2011.

So after enjoying it for 7 months I got ichy fingers and decided I needed another project.  I didn't have the space or money to start another whole car.  So, I decided on a new motor.  This time with a 1275, but with the "Twinky" conversion.  As 1275 blocks are not a dime a dozen over here I settled on an 1100s (1275) block with a small journal crank and Cooper S rods. The head was a K1100 16V and the conversion kit was a Matt Read aka 'theminiman' ausmini.com aka madmatt tmf (I think).

The plan for the motor was

1380

N/A using the BMW throttle bodies

Omega Forged pistons

11.0:1 CR

Balanced

MED st2 ultra light flywheel set up, with AP clutch

MED engine management pulley and pick up.

MicroTech ECU

Mini Spares 3.1:1 CWP

and some Specialist Components parts to tie it all together

I think the conversion process has been done numerous times before, so no boring photos of the same thing.

All the boring, balancing and assembly of the bottom end was carried out by Graham Russell Engineering so I was confident all the tolerances were spot on.

This is the motor ready to go in.  It did take 12 months to get to this stage.

There was also the other mods needed to make it work, like EFI pumps, fuel returns and surge tanks.

The best think was that it went in without any mods to the body.

There you have it, as it sits in the garage.  I hope to have it wired up and running within the month.  Stand by for the start up video.

Simply fantastic work. I love Aussie and SA clubmans, ever since Kylie had one on Neighbours back in 1987 :)
