the carpet I priced from suppliers for the clubby estate was a whopping £160 + P&P and because I wasn't fitting rear seats meant the standard pattern was no good.
So ordered 4 metres of a black nylon type carpet for under £80 delivered and measured up and fitted the rear

also needed to fit the rear bumpers and had the originals and a few spares.
Picked the best two for polishing and two for painting black. Small hole where the bracket was..
waterbase painting in progress
then the laquer coats

Might have to do as minispares aren't getting new ones in for a while

(Which products did you use for the underside and the inside of the wheel arches ?)

got a set of second hand arches, the type that fix to the lip. Not fitting right at the rear arch though.
Might have to do as minispares aren't getting new ones in for a while
I think I can see the problem. There seems to be a large sponge stuck under the arch. No wonder it won't fit!

repainted the tank as the first black was a dull finish, wanted a gloss finish.
an in-line fuel filter added
2 post lift comes in handy, although the arms just about reach onto good lifting points
maniflow exhaust got off e.bay had to be extended to get the tip just past the bumper, good bargain although it was the saloon type

so getting out and about to local car shows and getting some positive feedback, some you get like " could you not have done it original "
my answer is usually " the '70's brown velour didn't really appeal to me, besides that my 18yr old son wants to be able to drive this "

Fantastic result Adam, all I am not with you on is the seats, but as you have said, your 18 year old son wants to drive it and Recaros are 'trendy' I suppose. The mini looks stunning and it has all been worth it, hope mine will be just as good.
