At least your alright bud

Oh and congratulations on your first car crash whilst being behind the wheel. My younger sister just wrote off her corsa couple of weeks ago, by far the worst phone call i've ever taken.

I'm going to try and get it on the road again this week - these things are built like tanks!

Now that would be impressive, that thing's in pretty good shape considering the crash!

A friend of mine had a similar crash (although ended with a pond...) in a 59 plate Yaris, and there wasn't a salvagable part on it.

Cheers guys. Vans not going back on the road so that will be another set back I guess... Damage was worse than it looked!

Anyway, back on topic - not much progress with the mini due to these distributor problems - had a new one delivered - wrong plug setup, although it was obd1 - my twin plug setup seems to be non-existant, so I'm now gathering parts for a coil on plug conversion... Might be a better option anyway!

In the meantime, I've just been painting bits and bobs...

Bootlid painted also - the nice carbon fibre is still untouched inside, just decided I wanted the rear to look almost standard...

Put some clear coat on too...

Really showed how light carbon fibre is - the peice feels like its doubled in weight with paint and lacquer!

Looks better with all the bits the right colour though!

Still need to get a coat of paint on the side of the car, but I'm now happy with the posistion of the arches... a lot of sanding, stretching, and using wedges and time to try and change the shape slightly...

Tidied up my airline hose tonight... no more tripping over it - nearly broke my neck twice today!

Few changes to the interior too... Ripped the carpet out, sprayed the tunnel green, reposistioned my ECU in the footwell and added these nice shiny treadplate floormats... Looks loads better IMO! Will run the battery cable under the car when I get my new battery.

Thanks mate - a bit of polish and a lick of paint here and there will have her looking quite nice! Might add a few more interior lights - the white light makes it look so clean!

Thanks bud! Nope, the steering wheels only there to help me move it around! I'm going for the older style colum, not this mpi one so I can fit a bigger range of wheels as I cant find the mpi adapter anywhere! Thinking of going for a flat bottomed momo on a quick release boss

Looking very impressive. Hope it's up and running soon.

Thanks! Just getting the parts together for the coil on plug conversion!

quick release bosses are great but be careful what one you get as some are really poor and wear slack over time :( Speaking from personal experience as well lol

I know this was supposed to be on a budget - But I've taken my safety into account - only the top quality steering and braking components!

You're more than welcome mate - it would be good to see a friendly face around! Not been able to get out since the accident due to lack of vehicle!

Pub sounds good to me! Theres a place for you to crash if need be, save driving on a drink pal!
