Anyway, where to begin?
Gave the garage a PROPER tidy - cars looking a bit lonely now! Need to get the engine done and the front end on!

I set about making a new headlining - dont want anything fancy, just something to keep the condensation at bay!
Got a big box of ICE carpet for wrapping speaker boards and installs, and layed it over the outside of the roof to cut it to shape... I then took it inside and stuck it in with Multi Tak spray glue - brilliant stuff! Got a bit fumey though - wow! Good stuff!

Going to sort all the rough edges, and cut around my LED's in the roof once the windows are in place, then I can procede to wrap the pillars in it too...
My wiper motor has been knocking around the garage without really being put away for the whole project now - so shoved it back on! Strange how the little jobs like this can give you the satisfaction of knowing it'll soon be on the road!

New wheels came - This thing is going to be WIDE!

Then these goodies arrived, from a slightly dodgy chinese friend! £35 for the lot with no import tax...

Set about plumbing them in - only going to be able to use the main radiator ones as the rest need to be flexible hoses I beleive?

Got the car back up on blocks to start work underneath with the shifter and stuff!

This weld still needed ground down at this point, excuse the state of it!

Both welded up - but as I said, need ground down - just primered them up though as I had to make a rushed trip to wales!

But anyway, it works, which is the main thing!
Go on, click it, you know you want to!
Anyway, still more to come, but I'm off to work - will have another update this evening!

That rocker cover looks awesome!
Thanks - more to come about that in the next update!
some may consider it a "mid life crisis"
Oh jesus - a vtec mini before I'm 20 - Hate to think how bad my real mid-life crisis is going to be! ;)
Over a week and no update! What is going on? Did you do a shoot in the end?
Photoshoot was done, but only progress shots - car was in no state to shoot properly!
Haha thanks mate! Its starting to come together!I have to go change my trousers
haha mate you have dont wonderful things with that car! Its really lush! Congrats buddy
Nearly ;)Come on, you must be done by now!
i think i speak for everyone when i say take as long as you need to
Thank you mate - it's appreciated! Ordered some more parts, so the motivation is back!

Cheers mate - trying to sort everything else before I start her up, or else they'll never get done!
Looks dont really bother me as long as it works, but i'm amazed how the red goes with the green!
The silicone hoses are slightly less rigid than the originals, so it's sitting funny - I'm going to have to make up some sort of bracket for it!

Photos really dont do this thing justice...

My mate also laser cut the peice of 3mm steel for me in replacement of the original spark plug cover - much better! Also means it could be coated to match!

Need to get some domed nuts for the plug cover!
Dashboard... My mate works for a sign writing company - lil' shout out to Callum. He told me about rolls of a flock like material that they stock for t-shirts... So, of course it was perfect!
Not the easiest stuff to wrap around awkward shapes, but we're getting there - should be finished if we get a few hours spare this weekend!

Also, fitted the new crankcase breather as I damaged the old one whilst fitting the engine! NOT the easiest job to do with the engine in place and intake manifold on - my hands were cut to shreds by the water pump trying to press the breathers in!

Picked it up cheap off a guy splitting a dc2 teg!
Couldn't see much due to the position of it behind the inlet manifold, so came up with a little genius idea to see if the breathers were pressed down in place properly!
iPhone on, video mode, built in torch on... Bingo!

You can get a app for iphone called "Flash light" and you can turn it on and off and it uses the iphone's flash (plus its free!!!), is so useful haha !

Genius indeed!
I've learnt a couple of new tricks from your build, keep at it, and the ideas
