Still no bloody nuts. Damn - was so close to getting the engine in. Set about sorting other areas of the car though!

Nothing exciting to post! Bulkhead is definately finished now - 100% sealed, and I don't think my welds look too bad! Blasted it with a pressure washer, nothing came in the car. Smoke tested it, and again, no leaks! put a jug of petrol there, couldn't smell it in the cabin. So I'm happy!

Built it up with high build primer, smoothed the whole front end of the car, and painted. As can be seen in the next few photos.

First coat.

Started to poke around this rust in the rear end a bit more. Left (passenger) arch is perfect. The Drivers side is a bit worse for wear though!

Been soaking in kurust now for two days - Will then attack it with a flap wheel, see how bad it really is - Gave it a good prod, and nothing new gave way - so it may be salvageable for a year or so!

Cut the water bottle bracket off - as it wont be needed with the new layout in the car.

Gets hot in that boot while you're working!

All the old fuel lines are also out the boot now, and started to prod around to see what will need repaired. Cutting most the boot floor out for the carbon replacement. But this will need repaired. Right underneath the firewall. Shouldn't take much - only a 2" repair section.

As for the interior...

Posted Image

Big box of carpet arrived. I've cut a section to use for the headlining once everythings done.

Posted Image

Also carpeted the rear quarters

Parcel shelf, for mounting two of my speakers! Got to work on this!

Then carpeted the pillars.

Also, started to do some work on my dash again. I hate wiring, but we're getting there, slowly!

Few Savage switches in, along with the isolator, and toggles.

Glad to see things coming together, no matter how slow!

Any reason you didn't take your wipers and arms off? Only takes a few minutes haha

Nice to see some progress and that you haven't been put off by the wait for the engine nuts

I tried, and for some reason, the arms wouldn't budge! They just wont move atall, so just masked them up! It's only a rough finish for now anyway - the car will be getting a full respray this winter!

Is the trouble actually pulling the arms off the spindles? I had this problem too, brute force got them off in the end, whilst wiggling the arm a bit too (the wiper arm, not your other arm, that probably won't be very effective)

but yeh, either way, you worked around it haha

Yeah, they wouldnt shift from the spindle - and having no front end to hold the car together, the valance started to bend, so just masked up!

Haha, seriously? Gutted! How can they just, fall off? I even took a hub puller to mine, and made up a spacer to fit, and they wouldnt come off, even with my torque wrench maxing out!

Are you doing anything to release the clip in the wiper arm?

This wiring is driving me insane! Had to cut up my brand new loom to fit it through the bulkhead! :shy:

Can't see on the pics above but I take it you cut a hole in the bulkhead for the main loom and any other bits n bob you need to pass through

In which case why not just make the hole bigger, I mean you had to cut a hole in the first place right?

Because, I'll still need to try and seal around the cable - cant find a grommet to fit either - so blanking off the holes I've made, and going to pass it through the passenger airvent instead, and pack it with sillicone!

Off topic here, you're from Fort William? I LOVE that place so much, used to drive up every year from Kent...

Doubt it but ... do you know Alan, tall bloke, from Fasfern Cottages?

I'm from a place near Fort William - Glenfinnan! And as I'm very involved with the estate, I know Alan Currie VERY Well! He's just married Fiona after nearly 7 years of engagement! You'll probably know Michael too?
