Project is looking great Andrew, looks like you've learnt a lot in about one year.
The door gaps are not bad for a first restoration project.

What are the holes in the doorstep

I was wondering the same mine were plain with no holes at all..

Ah forgot to add, i hope you're using a zinc primer on such bare metal, i made the mistake of using a 'budget' rust proof primer (non zinc) and it didnt work well as panels rusted underneath it..

Thanks very much, I have Deffinatley learned a lot.
And I'm not using budget primer I work in a spray shop so know what I'm doing with paints.
I have used acid etch primer

Right got another update for everyone.
The car is now ready for spraying. All that needs to be done is to put the arches and drill the mirror holes.
Anyway pictures -

I couldn't find the original seams so i had to buy new ones. They are now all seam sealed and primed

I then set to work on the bonnet. I'm going for the MK1 look at the front so i cut the lip off and filled over the welds.
Posted Image

Took it to bare metal just as we've done with the whole car -
Posted Image

And then etched -

Fitted to the car -

I put the grill on again to see how it would look -
Posted Image
And WOW, Im so glad i went for this look, In my opinion it looks absolutely amazing.

Its going to look so good when the car is in paint ( Deep black gloss )
Posted Image

I then set to work on the drivers to which needed a light skim of filler -

Sanded down -

Then etched -

Would love to hear all of your comments and opinions as it makes it all worth while

Hello lovely people. Got another update for you.

Pictures -
Got the inside of the boot lid painted -
Posted Image

Then added some silent coat i had left over ( This Mini should be supper quiet ) -
Posted Image

Got the inside of the bonnet painted as its to much faff to spray it when there will be sound deadening over it -
Posted Image

We've decided to spary the High Build primer on at home to save time so did the prep for that -
Posted Image

Posted Image

I've got the paint, I'm just waiting for the 2.0mm tipped gun i ordered to apply the High Build with.

That's it for today, There should be another update soon with it in High Build and then after that its finally getting some colour on it :D

All comments would be greatly appreciated
Cheers

Andrew.
