This is the first time I've looked at this build thread and I must say that it is pretty inspiring. I'm doing my first build and after stripping my car down I thought I had definitely picked a lemon to start with. After seeing what you've done here with yours though, I think that I should be in good shape and with a little time and effort should have a decent mini on my hands when I'm all well and done. How do you manage to get the rust off most of your small bits...like your hubs and what not? They looked really bad in your pictures but you did a good job of getting them all cleaned up. Did you use that knotted wire wheel on a grinder or did you use some kind of chemical maybe?

Thank you very much, it makes all the work worth it hearing something like that.
Yes for the hubs etc I use a knotted wheel on the angle grinder and it brought them up a treat.
All it took was time getting every bit of rust off and then giving them a good coat of paint.

Got a good amount done today, Im almost ready to fire here up :D

Fuel pump on with some sexy braided fuel line ( Not that you will see it anyway ) -

As she stands at the moment, Just got the carb to fit -

I now need to weld the other closing panel on and then finish de bumpering the valence.
Once this is done i can put the rear sub frame on, put the fuel tank in and then fire her up :D

bit of advice make sure u know where everything goes before you take a part, take a pic before aswell incase you forget hahaha
