Hey man good job on your mini :) love the engine bay and the sound mate. im 16 now and got my mini a few weeks ago basically just dooin vody work and then gettin te engine going. well ive got 2 for it a standard 998 and a metro1275 which isi init at the mo so depending on the insurance i dont know wich one ill be having yet :)

Just read up about you not knowing what colour to spray it, mine is in pearlesant blue and the moment wich changes colour to purple with light blue gliitter init (would show you but really hard to capture good shot of colour) i sooooo badly wana keep the colour as not many minis i think would have this or ordinary cars actually cause its a porsche colour But i think ittl be to exspensive tobuy and hard to spray it with (needs a re-spray cause the prep work before was poo! +pannels need replacing and what not) so i think im guna go with a gloss black however instead of a black or white roof im guna get a irish cream colour, bit differant i know but think it would look tidy.

Anyway enough babbleing great car i will be watching and i want to make a build thread too but cant be arsed hahah probs will when i have done a little more, done a fair bit with boddy work and interior but no pics. will stand when parts for engine come

You should deffinatley get a project thread up. I find it motivates me.

Today i treated myself to a orbital sander which is making life a lot easier -


The de bumpering is coming along extremely well and only needs a little bit more attention -




Also got the A Panel done -


And some work on the wing where i dropped it


I have finished my exams now so it is all Mini now.
Would love to hear your comments as always.

looking good mate, i really like how you have de bumpered the back i bet that orbiter sander has helped no end, i flatted mine down by hand...twice my arms are pretty hench now though lol

when you going in for paint ?

Thanks very much Rhys, Me and my dad had been doing it by hand bet the amount of body work it takes to removed the bumper I thought screw it and bought the sander and it's a God send.
I will get the front suspension built up and put all the wheels on and then I will be painting it myself as I simply can't afford to get a professional job.

fair enough we were considering painting cn our selves but the paint work is the bit that everyone sees and i want it to be as good as i can afford

Yeah before it comes to the paint going on I think I might ring round a few places to see how much they will charge to just out the paint on and I will do all the flating back etc.
