You aren't talking to yourself my friend - you're doing a cracking job and there's a fair few of us watching you. There's no need to constantly ask for comments - they will come!

Am seriously impressed with what you have achieved so far. Be proud. Be very proud.

Got the other wing welded on in the past few days
I think it went quiet well, Im happy with all the gaps and the welds are strong.
Im so glad that the front end actually went on -

Front end welding is officially complete and it went well
Any way what you want to see

Passenger A-Panel all welded up -
Posted Image

Posted Image

Plug welds -
Posted Image

I then finished of the front end to wing welding
It is very un neat but it was so awkward to get the welder in and once its seam sealed and under sealed it will be fine -
Posted Image

Posted Image

The end result ( Welds have not been ground down yet ) -
Posted Image

Also seam sealed the floor repair that the previous owner had just done -
Posted Image

Whilst i was welding i felt my leg get very hot, so i looked down i couldn't see anything and stupidly carried on welding. I then became covered in smoke so i stopped again and looked down. The cloth i was lying on had caught fire and my trousers ahaha
Thought i would share that.

Also do i put seam sealer in the gap where the wing meets the scuttle ??

All comments are very welcome as usual

Andrew.

Andrew - that is a super job on your Minis front. The plug welding is great. My plugs are a bit ugly to say the least. But watch your breeks boy!!!

I did have an update ready a few days ago but couldn't access Photobucket .
So you are getting two updates in one you lucky people.
Pictures -
Cleaned the floor with white spirit ready for paint -
Posted Image

Seam sealed for added protection -
Posted Image

Painted -
Posted Image

Painted the rear bench -
Posted Image

I then painted the whole floor and started laying down the Silent Coat ( Sound Proofing ) -
Posted Image

Drivers foot well -
Posted Image

Rear -
Posted Image

And finished -
Posted Image

I used strips of Flash Band on the back seat part -
Posted Image

Also did the roof -
Posted Image

I used 28 Sheets of Silent coat and 2 Meters of Flash Band if any one is interested.
I have to say that the Silent Coat was very nice to work with and when i tap the car its now a dull thud and not like a tin can.

I then welded the patches on either side of the boot and seam sealed them -
Posted Image

Posted Image

Well i hope that was a big enough update for you all
Comments are very welcome as usual
Stay tuned for more very soon

Andrew.

im gonna need a to get some of that silent coat :) , and yes i did go through the roof at the end of the day but had to keep it cool at college as im already on a warning for my aggressive behaviour towards an issue with another student :P, so i took it all out at the gym then came home with a smile.

can i ask where you got your silent coat please bud? and your getting on really well with yours now and will be a great 30 back on the roads :D

Sorry i haven't updated in a while but ive been busy on the Mini.
Any how here what you want to see Pictures -

Whilst cleaning up the boot i found some hidden rust that needed a sizable patch so thats now complete -
Posted Image
I can now say that the boot is RUST FREE !!!!

Welded on the rear valence -
Posted Image

I may not have mentioned this before but the Mini is going to be de bumper-ed, therefore there was no need for me to repair the rust on the lip -
Posted Image

I then cut and welded in small gaps along the rear -
Posted Image

It now looks like this -
Posted Image
It is so time consuming, it took me about 2 hours to do 50% of it

I then de bumperd the front which was much quicker and easier -
Posted Image

Started to filler it -
Posted Image

It still need more work -
Posted Image

I then began to filler the window repair i had done and its coming along nicely -
Posted Image

And finally got the arch in its first of many layers of chassis black -
Posted Image
Posted Image

I would greatly appreciate any comments or suggestions as it is very pleasing to hear other peoples thoughts.
More updates soon

Andrew.
