Andrew - that is smashing welding and I gather your just a young fellow. Very impressed! I would never have done something like that at your age. How on earth did you get your torch in at that seam between the front panel and the wings?! But you young lads are more flexible than me. Even your plug welds are impressive!!

All the very best

Hugh

To get in under the arch ( I didn't think to weld it off the car ) I just put the axel stands as high as I could go and job done .

I won a fully refurbished Cylinder Head on ebay for £40 what a bargain
It arrived this weekend so i set to work on that whilst the weather was fowl
Pictures -

New hardened valve guides -
Posted Image

It came fully skimmed -
Posted Image

New hardened unleaded valve seats -
Posted Image

I then lapped my valves in ( 3 Minutes on course and 3 minutes on fine )
They all have a really good seal around the seats now -
Posted Image

All numbered up ready to be fitted -
Posted Image

Thats about it for today.
Once i have the valves fitted with new springs i will be painting the head the same colour as the block
Also if the weather is good next week i can finish fitting the front end
All comments very welcome

Andrew
