when you sit in it first thing in the mornin, take in the smell of the interior, pat the sterring wheel, and take it all in with a feeling of nostaliga, and a feeling of good will.... until it fails to start and then you curse it, try again but apologise 1st for cursing, then when it does finally start, you congratulate it with "good boy/good girl!
every other weekend is spent fixing something else that has been on the to do list since you bought it, and the other weekends are spent helping fix someone elses mini
the other half doesnt understand your passion, until they get involved themselves and there in the garage more often than you with their own project!
without realising it, you buy things for the home, and its usually mini themed, has a picture of a mini on it, is mini shaped, and there are more spanners in your cutlery draw than knives and forks!
your shed/garage has not only been taken over by your mini, you have amassed a large collection of parts that has taken over parts of the garden, loft and anywhere else you can find
you have stacks of mini magazines that you keep just incase there is an article that you might need in the technical section, and you know which magazine said article is in, but you end up sitting in the floor flicking through all the magazines because you get side tracked by all the shiney minis and forget what you were looking for in the first place!
when driving round a super market car park, and see a big car trying to squeeze into a small parking space, watch them give up and you zip and watch there face in disgust as it was really close to the door, and they have to park at the far end of the car park!

When you get out your car at the kabab house and a random person shouts "Wheyyyyy he has a mini" (happened to me last night)....
When your sat at school and you can here people say "i love scott's mini"....
When you drive through the playground at school when there is a PE class out there and the whole class including the teacher just stops and stares....
When you can see the passenger trying to brake when you go into a roundabout fast....
When you get people come up to you asking for a ride because they have never been in a mini....
When your mates mum gives your mate a lecture about how mini's are dangerous before he is aloud out....
When you go through a car wash and water flows in through the doors and windows (was not a good experience)....
When your floor has enough water on it to rehydrate most of Africa...

when you only have to look at it and your covered in dirt before u have even touched it!
when your under it more than your driving it!
when you have to push it away from a petrol pump cause it wont start!

Thats where my handy sticker in the back window explains "Im not not drunk just avoiding pot holes" so they know ahead of time haha
