OK so about to take the doors of my mini to replace the door step and also do some repairs to the Inner A Panel and pretty sure the bolts are going to snap when i take the door hinge off. Have been looking at the aftermarket ones on Ebay and came across these Ebay Door HInges

Anyone know if these are any good or recommend a place to get some from..

Thanks

To be fair if they are Wood and Picket items they will be ok BUT and its a big BUT beware if they are aftermarket cheap copies.

We bought a set from either Himley or Bingley. They looked ok but needed a little bit of work but other than that they fitted ok or so we thought.

Scott bought a set of DSN classic lightweight hinges and when i offered those up the doors fouled on the rear quarter??

Now if you have a look at the Project Erm link below you will see where i added metal to the front and rear edges because of excessive gaps once i had repaired and reskinned the doors.

These were gapped with the new hinges we had bought so we both thought the new DSN hinges would compliment the finish but we had the fouling issue.

I compared them to the steel ones and the was a difference in thickness so after a phone call to DSN (very very helpful) the aftermarket ones we had bought were wrong but it was too late to do anything about them by then. DSN use the exact dimensions of the original hinges.

Yes we could have messed around with getting the DSN hinges skimmed to match the after market ones but we put it down to experience.

So if you do get some compare them to yours first as you may need to add additional shims to get them to allow the door to fit without fouling
