right silly question, but i have on my grille buttons. 2 nuts, 2 washers, 1 locking washer, the rubber washer and the "button" itself.

what order do these go in.
obviously starting with the long bolt throught the car. then what??

Just get a pack of mixed screws from B&Q and see what fits best, £2 at most.

I was just thinking, how about reverse grill buttons, where the bolt is mounted to the grill, could hide this under the slats, then through a hole in the body with the grill button/ equivalent bolt etc on the other side.

that prlly would work on one side (left hand), but the other side has a fresh air bit and radiator in the way (right hand) I think.

+1 for rivnuts as well, when they die with wear and tear it a 2 mini job to replace them.
