also my mate has let me use his air compresser and tools he picked up so this should make the rebuilding proccess a bit quicker and this is my last week of sixth form this year so will start doing a bit more over xmass will also try and do a bit of spray painting on the floors inside and also under the car and boot and engine bay. if any one knows about the amount of thinners and other things like tips and stuff would be good help.
anyway

right just a a little update i have dropped the rear sub frame found out it is ****** but good luck happens as lucas1amps my mate who is helping me got a mint one off someone he knew as he was putting a beam in so i got the subframe for a tenner bargain so have painted up rear arms and built it back up found a few more rusty spots under the boot floor which i have to fix still haven't finished the sill and still gota strip and rebuild the engine and i got my driving test next week. i haven't been working on it that much as sixthform work got dumped on me when i got back after crimbo so been doing that.
right picie time
first the subframe i havent got a pic of it fully built but this one has one of the rear arm back on it
Posted Image
i got my scuttle end panels so got a few more things to do on the front then wings and front panel can go back on it will feel like progress at last :P
Posted Image
you cant realy see it but the metal has rusted out where it has layered up
Posted Image
pic from the same area but wheel arch as you can see was just about to chop it out but thought i will get a pic first
Posted Image
this pic shows after i cut some of the rust off
Posted Image
that was like an hour or two last night i havent got a finished pic but finished chopping all the rusted area out last night.i will be going back over my dads tonight to do some more and hopefuly get some new metal welded in to place.
i dad has told me that once my mini is finished he was to get a beetle in need of a bit of tlc and do that up as he had two of them as his first and second cars and wants another one.

well some work would have been done tonight but had problems with my rear brake on my moped binding which is weird as it just over a year old now so being trying to do that but one of the pistons wouldnt go back in so got mad with it so pushed it as far as it would go and then put it back together so its usable again which should last me til it goes in for a service where i will get them to change the caliper
any way work will happen tomorrow as going round after driving lesson then m8 is coming round as he need pics of a car thats old and rusty i think mine fits the bill for his photography
will try and get pistons out of the calipers tonight as they are sat in my bed room
anyway will be doing more welding tomorrow yay burns here i come lol :S

Posted Image
block is going to be striped down gearbox is going to be cleaned out and will check the bearings and teeth main & big end bearings will be replaced i think just as the engine is apart for peace of mind. block is going to be paint as well dunno what colour tho
Posted Image
pic of old head gasket

Posted Image

the rockers in an old glove box
also i thought i would show a pic for my product design making stage we are making bug boxes i kno it sound cr*p because well it is but might as well produce some thing good. this is one of three i am making which will then be attached to a metal structure shaped like a tree/ vine should look good when its finished. the bird and branch were cut out on the lazer cutter and then will stick on to it the face plate another back plate will be used too and bendy ply around the out side.
Posted Image
also we got a cutter plotter in the product design rooms so i can make up a design for some vinyls and cut them out for my mini (sparky, named from as when i got it, it had a sparkly roof)
any way welding on tomorrow
also will post pic my m8 does of my mini when he has finished editing it
