After 2 years in garage, my mk1 will be back on the road.. July2011

Bought a used complete rear subframe ( unit imported from Japan)

Posted Image
Installed wheels to it.

Posted Image
It comes with the adjustable suspension

DIY the project at my home, fuel tank, exhaust pipe already taken out, lots of WD40 was sprayed to all the bolts..

Posted Image
Last sunday work, removing the old subframe, this is a mk1 so the old hydrolastic pipe still attached with it.

Under the body, no hole on it so just clean n a fresh coat of paint and underseal should be ok before installing the good condition subframe.

Thanks for viewing..

Looking good. What do you still have to do to the car, any more photos?

lots of thing to do, due to my time constraint, i did not have time to clean n rust proofing the under body before installing the rear subframe.

next, install rear subframe,
2. replace front wheel bearing,
3. replace radiator
4. sort some minor wiring problem,
5. interior need attention
6. waiting for my fuel tank neck rubber parcel from minispares before install back tank.
7. service clutch pumps and brake.
8. change carburettor ( i had bought one nice 2nd unit)
9. repaint the body.
