Hello,
I have a 1992 SPI Rover Mini Cooper that doesn't have a dashboard, only the three clocks on the right hand side of the car.
No air vents, just the clocks.
I want to fit a dashboard like this to my car
http://www.minispare...ty=pb&pid=32629
How would i got about it, as i don't want to install the above dashboard and have holes where the air vents were meant to be.
Help would be appreciated thanks,
Anton

Do you have holes in the inner wings for the vents? You could always retrofit them easily if the rest of the system is in place. Or leave them sealed and fit front speakers in the dash holes maybe.

Try Custom Consoles. By the very nature of their name, they will give you exactly the layout that you want. Two clock, three clock, holes for gauges, stereo, air vents. Looks very tidy with the Central Console too.

The fitting of them is easy. They come with a fitting kit (Four brackets that slip under the upper & lower dash rail). I used them for Lulu & would highly recommend them for speed & quality of service / product.

Hello guys
Thanks for the replies so early in the morning
I'll take some photos of the interior I have now
As I don't think I am being clear enough
Plus I think the dashboard would look odd without air vents
So I will need to install airvents where there aren't any
Is that possible?
Cheers
Anton

Yes it's possible, but how easy it will be depends on what has actually been done to your car. Ducting from the air vents passes through a hole at the top of each flitch panel to the wheel arch behind. In some cases these holes have been covered over with plates that cane be easily removed by removing the screws, in other cases the holes have been welded up. To find out what you are dealing with, you need to remove all the fabric and soundproofing on each side where the air vents should be.

However if you are not actually bothered about ventilation and just want the air vents in your dash for looks, then you could always just fit a set of vents to your new dash that don't actually lead anywhere. On many aftermarket full length dashboards the air vents are attached to the dashboard itself as opposed to the car, so it's not actually necessary to connect them to the car with ducting unless you want them to work :)
