Just started a install in my mates mini for him , no pics of car as it's being painted but will add some when it's back together colours will be orange with black so audio install is being trimmed to match
we chose 2x8" jbl gto subs as I have a good listen to these and really rate them , drop low and hit hard so box for them was built first

box is 1.5cuft before displacement and tuned to 33hz .all joints are glued and screwed the sealed .
Box carpet arrived so could trim it and fit the port now ready for subs as it's fully wired

mono amp powering the subs is a Phoenix gold octane r 501

front component speakers are jbl power series 6.5"

the mids are going in custom fiberglass kick pods and tweeters on the dash .
Tweeter cups trimmed

and the start of the kick builds 12mm mdf base and baffle

12mm dowel uprights to form the frame are hot glued in place

Hope to get the pod frames covered tomorrow and start to get the resin on

Got the pods ready for resin

got 2 coats of resin on and have left to cure , then CSM will be applied to inside
also the front end amp arrived Phoenix gold octane r 2.5.2

Subs were dropped off tonight


now fitted

also got the rest of the kit I was waiting for , headunit and wiring

Pods are covered wanted to use the orange carpet but it had zero stretch so went with black , can always spray the grills orange at a later date



still need to do some more work on them , make brackets, wadding , wiring but
getting there

Got the amps mounted

and cossovers

this will be mounted to the seat back , shame the box will be infront of it but at least we know it looks nice

Got all the cableing done that I can , will cut done alot of time hunched over in the boot

Very nice amp-"rack", might just copy that idea with my PG's
My current setup steals to much space

Very tidy work so far, I like the speaker pods too. Can't wait to see what it all looks like installed.

RCA and 2 speaker cables run down each side of the car , all gaffs taped down

amp board fitted and cables being run

boot floor fitted and cableing done

front pods bolted through wing with 8mm bolts


sub box fitted

headunit and CB fitted

ports fitted in rear shelf




few pics of the car stereo is finished and sounding really good , couple of bits
the car will change ( wheels and arches) but havnt yet arrived . Car will be at SMD
