I was painting the top solid 2k coats of paints (flame red) and was called away after putting two coats on. i have about the same amount of paint left in the tin and want to use it. I tend to put more on so i can flat it better. What paper grade should i use to key the paint before the next two coats? I want to clean it up to as i have a fair amount of dust in the paint and dont want to just paint over it.
Also once its all cured. what grade should i use before using g3 and then g10? Ive used 1500 in the past and got some light scatches in the surface that look like its been through a car wash a few hundred times.

flat with 600 w,d ,a little drop of fair liquid in you bucket of water will help it to cut faster.Clean down then apply you top coat.Be Careful when you panel wipe down,it can soften your paint.so try to wipe down quick.as for polishing flat with 1500 w,d then 2000 w,d.using soapy water.

You can wet flat if you like but its a little messy and out dated now.
I would dry sand it with 500 personally, panel wipe, tack and paint away.
Go steady with your next coat as it could react with the first 2 coats if they are not fully cured.

wet flatting is good as well as dry flatting ,its all according the job you are doing ,as for a reaction ,you wont get one
on a two pack solid .as you done it early in the week.dry sanding will clog up easier then wet sanding.we average 50 cars a week ,dry sanding and wet sanding .i am old school .
