Cheers, it's no lighter, just 2-3 times the price as it's drawn out cold which makes it stronger, ERW is rolled from sheet metal and welded, so not perfectly round but still strong enough for most applications! I'll look into it again soon when I get my hands on the blue book or FIA regs again!
