Hi all, I have made some up for my own car and whilst I was at it I've also made up a few more. These are the proper method of fitting bucket seats for race and rally applications so it's not just a bolt on mod, they incorporate a floating M8 nut (these are 11mm deep not normal ones which are about 6mm deep) for fixing which has approx 45mm of sideways movement (about 10mm more than any others on the market). This means if you put wider or narrower seats in the brackets will cater for it without any cutting etc.

Anyway here's a pic of the tubes welded in my mini, I ran out of time to weld the brackets on but will try tonight and get a picture up:

And here is the kit for 1 seat which I can supply if any interest:

For mini applications I am also happy to fold the brackets that sit on the inner sills like mine in the top pic, it would be very hard to do at home diy style and will make fitting much easier and neater, the plates that sit on the tunnel need bending (not folding) which can be done in a vice with a hammer reasonably easy, they follow slightly odd shapes and it would not be practical for me to do it myself (plus we know all minis are different lol).

I am very happy with the design and construction, if there is interest then I will start up a thread in the correct section now I am registered as a trader and provide more pics and details!

Prices expected to be in the region of £30, this is about £10 cheaper than other kits I have seen and mine also benefit from longer tubes than others (needed in a mini due to the very narrow tunnel), more float on the captive nuts, longer welds on the brackets, and proper size spreader plates (rather than the small square washer type plates sold by others!)

Please post if interested and if so I will set up my first trader type thread in the correct section

No the price is for 1 seat, which is 4 laser cut, folded and welded brackets with custom made nuts, 2 long tubes, 4 spreader plates for the sides and bolts for the seats if required, this is still cheaper than I have found as already said.

I managed to sneak out and weld a set into my car so here's a pic of them fitted:

is that with postage though?

i would be using side mounts for a bucket seat so i assume these would fit those too

some nice welding on those brackets

True! But I'm assuming people who are building their own car will know what is allowed and what is not

I will try and find a way of posting as cheaply as possible so it may include postage or may not, my priority is to make them as appealing as possible though so will package a set and weigh them to see what I can do.

They look awesome. I'd be interested in some when I eventually overhaul the interior. although would need to find someone to weld then in for me :/

Right, I have enough for about 8 individual kits, or 4 pairs which can be ready soon, unfortunately royal mail would be £7.7something and the cheapest courier I can get is £6, up to 15kg.

So, they will most likely be £35 posted for brackets for 1 seat, or £65 posted for 2 sets (2 seats), the tube is ERW but I can supply CDS if required, it will be slightly more, and I'm sure after scanning through the MSA Blue Book it doesn't say CDS is a must for seat mounts, just the roll cage material. I may be wrong but the option is there, and I know of several rally cars with MSA log books which use ERW tube.

I'm going to find a couple of nicer images and start a proper thread in the traders section hopefully tonight so I don't get told off by the mods!!!

Thanks for the input guys,

Regards, TC.

Pretty sure it doesnt need to be CDS, I did look into this as well as I was gonna use cheaper tube but people prefer it because its lighter i think. Good luck and nice looking kit.
