BPR6ES are just fine for this, or Champion NY9's. Forget the other makes.

I wouldn't bother with the iridium tipped plugs to be honest.

Second that.
Best plugs for your engines are champions N9Y, NGK BP6 are a good alternative.

Champion plugs -all the way. As others have suggested the N9Y is good - or if you intend to drive it hard, the N7Y or perhaps even N6Y.

can i ask why there is such a negative reaction to iridium plugs, i use them in 2 strokes to good effect, do they inhibit a minis performance or are they seen as overkill?

No they're just pointlessly expensive. They won't gain you anything very much if anything at all over standard ones. Any kind of uprated ignition equipment is largely marketing. Sparks just need to be hot and happen at the right time. Iridium tips don't make them hotter and don't make them more accurate. The idea that having lower voltage in the spark will reduce wear on the leads and coil is nonsense.

ok, interesting, i suppose it is more noticeable on a single cylinder bike, because they do seem to run smoother, thanks for the feedback.

Did you try just fitting a brand new standard type plug as a comparison?

yeah i build 2 strokes a lot and prefer iridiums, they seem a little more cleaner running a better feel, i have a mate with 12 4 stroke bikes and he swears by iridium plugs, i'm just doing up my first mini for the missus and its interesting to get the feedback, i suppose on old bikes with crappy ignition systems plugs that need less power for a spark its a case of every little helps, i'm sure someone somewhere will have a dyno comparison,
