The grill is also a give away. The bonnet will have a lip on with for the later type grill.

It all depends on what age of Mk 1 shell and Mk 2 shell you are talking about - they all had production related changes over the years.

The mk1 was built between 10-14 December 1962 and no idea On mk2 shell should a 1962 mini have dry or wet suspension and the model is a super deluxe

Mk1 shells were produced between 59-67 when Mk11s started production but some of the last mk1s had a few mk11 item fitted and some early mk11 shells had a lot of mk1 items fitted this was called the overlap period and when the last mk1 wwre short of certain parts they fitted mk2 parts and mk11 shells were shell started and not all parts were ready they had what was left in the parts bin of mk1 stuff...............there must of been a couple of hundred overlaped minis produced............. :)

I've got a 1967 mk1 built in October in the uk, got shipped over to New Zealand in December. It's got both mk1 and mk2 features!
