This is my 1970 Morris Mini 998. I had it for nearly 3 years now, it's my daily driver taking myself and girlfriend to work aswell as attending shows and meets. I bought the car off Oil Lewis's mum after Oli died a few years ago. I never knew what Oil's plans were for the car but i've taken it to europe three times and to lots of Uk shows so I hope just by doing this i've managed to achieve something Oli would be proud of. The car is actually 50% and 50% my girl friend Emily's (I'm currrently building her a tasty Pickup.) This can lead to some amusing debates as to what we should do with the car when it comes to styling :)

One thing we did agree on was the car need to be tidyed up as it was looking a little ratty which was cool for a while but eventually gets a little boring.
Here's a few pictures of when we first got the car and the ratty look.

So we'ed decided the car was to be tidyed up and we knew we wanted something a bit brighter to stand out at the shows. Emily then set herslf the task of figureing out a crazy colour scheme using all the left over paint we had at the workshop. She must have spent hours going through tins of paint and compairing colours to find the ones she liked.

Starting on the bodywork and primer.

Then we started the massive task of masking up and painting each individual panel a different colour.

We finished the car and then three days later we were off the IMM in switzerland. Thankfully we knew the car was already mechanicaly sound.

Everyone loved the car and we had quite few people try to buy it which was fun. I got a little embarrased with the amount of photos people were taking but i guess we'll have to get used to that :)

Yeah few people have made refrence to the Polo. We did look at some pictures of them before we did the Mini but dicided the harliquin just didn't have enough colours.

It is bit of a marmite car but i'd have to say more people seem to love it than hate it. The looks we get when driving it around town are priceless, we also get a lot of horn beeping and thumbs up from other drivers.

Interesting, must be because of the white roof, however my SPi cooper was registered as "GREEN/WHITE". Your Mini looks stunning by the way :-

Easy to repaint when you damage or replace one panel!

Are the wheels nuts painted?

Yep! We wern't sure if that was going to work. I added quite a bit of plastersizer to the paint to make it more flexable and hopefully durable. So far so good none had flaked off and they're all torqued up correctly :D

This really does look awesome! Love the grill :D

The grill is probably my favourite bit of the car, I think it really finishes off the front end. Mind you was bit of a pain to do!

Haha! yes I never thought about it that way. Saying that this is probably the the hardest paint job i've ever done including some crazy flip pearls.

Cheers guys I'm glad it's causing some interest.
