I had a day free so I thought I'd stick the engine back together. Unfortunately the camera batter went flat so I've only got a before pic..

Thats..

New clutch
New Oil Pump
New Followers
New duplex timing chain
New big end shells

Its now mostly back together and has had a squirt of satin black as well.

Had a bit of time so have(nearly) finished the engine..

Posted Image

Just need to replace the clutch plunger and fit the trust and the wok and its done(oh and set the tappets)

Had a senior moment as well, put it all back together and then found a 'spare' pushrod!!! Luckily I could just slide the rocker out of the way to fit it!!!(phew!!)

Opened up my boxes..

And I've got a new steering rack to go on, as well a a car set of braided hoses.

If I get time i've also got a new interior(to me anyway) to go in.

(Oh and some arches and some gold mambas!!)

I think i may book a day off work, now I've had time to think about it a bit!!

That could be a bit tricky as its probably a taper thread?

Equally, you don't want to be risking bits of metal dust going in the engine.

How overtightened was it? Could you do it with a good quality easy out?

I've used left handed taps for that kind of job in the past with good sucess.
