well that was worth running around for last weekend,...... well done, another one on the roadAgain no pictures and I think I'll keep him under wraps till the MITP debut!
But............
He has an MOT!! Passed today with no advisories.
Drives nicely, did have an annoying rattle but that was cured by bending the front bumper. The brakes could do with another bleed and the drivers side rear wheel bearing is a bit noisy. Apart from that its all good, engine runs nice and strong, no overheating.
All I need to do is give the brakes one last quick bleed, fit the stereo and its all good!!
Woo Hoo!

Just noticed that I've managed to get him back on the road in under 2 months!!
Quite chuffed with that, ok he's not finished by a long way but all he needs now is a lick of paint and some filler!

Some of you may have seen Stinky at the recent shows, he's a bit ropey looking but ace fun to drive!
Next job up is the gearbox, Guessworks has sorted me out with a nice refurb box and thats gonna be fitted very soon indeed.
I just need to reign myself in when the engine comes out, have to keep telling myself not to go overboard with it. No new cams or silly stuff like that.
I've also made a pledge to myself NOT to wash him until he gets painted!!
Oh yeah, and bought him a set of 10x5 gold mambas as well, not to be fitted until painted either!!!
Watch this space!!

I plan on having him back on the road for Malvern in October.
The paint job will probably happen in March with his shiney debut being at the Malvern show!!

I actually kinda like how he looks at the moment, he's recognisable as my car and is very individual.
I like the slightly down at heel ratty look, I really can't be bothered with worrying about dents or people leaning on him.
If I do a proper job on him and make him look all pretty then I may just lose his "Stinkyness"

I would have had it done today but ended up buying and then fitting a new washing machine!!
As a small consolation to myself I have bought a few new bits.
I discovered the rack had play in it, much easier to change when the engine is out!! Also the clutch is very worn, I did have a slightly better spare but due to the delay have bought a new one, also got a new oil pump and some other bits as well.
In an ideal world I'd have done a bit of a refurb but money won't allow it1!

Clutch is worn so new one has been ordered.
Theres also a lot of water stain marks by the rad bottom hose as well.
Just need to steal a few hours and get it sorted.

Ps why not have a mini forum paint job on it but in stinky colours get someone to paintshop it would be interesting. Youve helped enough people out i bet someone would even do you a good deal on a paint job.
