No pics as I forgot to take the camera in the garage.
Had a few hrs today so..
Fitted the refurbed hub to the drivers side front, also noticed that the brake hose was cracked to had to do that as well(luckily had one in stock)
Refurbed the rear brakes.
Seam sealed and then went mad with the shutz gun, everything under the car is now covered in the stuff!!
Finally, removed the head so it can be sent away for an unleaded conversion and refurb, The cylinder bores are perfect, no lip or wear, the 60k on the clock ma be genuine??
Next Saturday I've got a full day so I plan on getting it pretty much done.
Fit head
Service, new water hoses/water pump/radiator and so on.
Refit fuel tank
Check the electrics
Fit new slave cylinder
Fit new engine mounts and stabilser bushes.
Repair A-panel
Fit new exhaust mounts
Bleed brakes and clutch
Once thats done it just leaves the interior to be fitted and then an MOT.
If theres time I'll have a tinker with the bodywork but its not a priority.
I may yet make MITP!!

I sent the head off to be overhauled and then converted to unleaded, turns out my head is cracked and therefore scrap...........DOH!!
A few calls later and I got a 2nd hand one off Jason at classic mini bits, life saver!!
Will be taking that one on Monday to be overhauled.
In the meantime I've..
- Fitted new engine mounts
-Fitted new stabilser bushes
-Fitted new water pump and slave cylinder.
Repaired the bottom of the A-panel
Also refitted the fuel tank, what an awful job that was!
Checked out and tested all the electrics, fitted a new number plate lamp.
Still a long way to got, but am getting there.

Bleeding brakes(literally!!)
Been trying to get brakes on him and had no success, bit the bullet and ordered a new master cylinder from the local factors. Looked ok till I got it home and found it was totally different!!
Arse, this was at 1pm on a Saturday, jumped in the car and just made min-its, bought a new master and a compensator valve as well.
Fitted both and then bled the brakes.....................still no brakes, even after 3 different bleeders used.
The only part of the brakes I hadn't replaced was the passengers side flexy, that couldn't have collapsed and then blocked...........could it?? It looked pretty new.
Guess what?? It was blocked!!
Arse!!
Couldn't get one today so the MOT tomorrow isn't happening.

But............
He has an MOT!! Passed today with no advisories.
Drives nicely, did have an annoying rattle but that was cured by bending the front bumper. The brakes could do with another bleed and the drivers side rear wheel bearing is a bit noisy. Apart from that its all good, engine runs nice and strong, no overheating.
All I need to do is give the brakes one last quick bleed, fit the stereo and its all good!!
Woo Hoo!
