What are the actual differences between the two vehicles panel + suspension + running gear + subframe wise?

The suspension and subframes are the same. In terms of running gear they will both be on drum brakes, the engine's available were different though. Depending on age the van may have an 850 or 998, wheras the estate will be 998 or 1098, both a series. The panels differ quite a lot, the front ends are different obviously. the van has the earlier mk1 type doors and apertures along with mk1/2 a panels and external hinges, where the estate has the later mk3 onwards panels. The van rear side panels have the pressed infill in place of windows and the rear load bed is longer, running right up to the rear of the front seats, where on an estate the seats fold down to form part of the load bay. Estates have a spare wheel well in the rear floor too. im sure there is more...

They actually share very few panels, they may look similar but are very different. Also the rear suspension is not the same in all, some vans have longer rear trumpets.

Original Van trumpets had a wider flange which gave a little better load capacity

Not all Vans were without rear seats! They were an option I believe
