First thing was to get rid of the steelies and get four new tyres fitted

Poor photo but you get the idea.

I ran the car like this for about 10 months, then i took it for a pre MOT check (always a good idea)

Needed two new sills, door step work annnnd a new subframe.
Id finished college and had a long break until my first day at uni so me and my dad set to work, with no previous knowledge of this kind of work, although my dads always been handy with a spanner.

So work began (poor blackberry photos included)

During this time, we decided the car looked so much better with no arches on, so we left them off

Heres how it looked

after subframe work by alex.robinson18, on Flickr

The day after this photo was taken and a few weeks of being back on the road, a got sideswiped by someone towing a trailer, so the sill needed pulling out and a door was needed.
Due to lack of funds i had to run the car in a sorry state for the duration of the winter looking like this...

Engine cleaner a little

This is how the car stood as of a few weeks ago.

Passenger door still black and dented.
Sills needing painted
Rear arch holes needed welding an rear quaters painted.

Photo of it at himley with a new black boot as the orignal one was dented and creased! Think it looks good imo.
Some stickets added for a while to personalise it

Both rear quarters painted with rear arch holes welded.
New passenger door painted and hung
Passenger sill pulled out, and new door step welded int.
Both sills are door steps painted body colour (previously in black and primer)

Heres the photos of how its stands now

Ride height is lower one side now, but im just waiting for the new cones up front to settle then il adjust it accordingly.

So happy with it now, i use the car everyday, driving to uni takes 40 minuites each way, all dual carrage what 60mpg driving and its never let me down.

Iv replaced almost every running component now bar engine at things like that.

Iv plowed every penny into it and can honestly say i wouldnt change it for the world.

Plans for the near future are to fit mk2 lights iv had sitting around for a few months and either get my 12x5 revos refurbed or save up to convert to 10 inch wheels.

Apart from that, im really happy with her.

Looking Good! Love the colour scheme and the archless look, think some deluxe trim would finish it off nicely!

Think mk2 lights would set the car off, I plan to fit all red mk2's to mine, just got to work out how im going to conceal the fog light, as I dont like them hanging underneath lol

Thats funny, i was going to ask what i shud go for with the trim...
Black or delux.

I was swaying towards black to match the roof but im really not sure!

Waiting for my bank balance to recover until i go to 10's. (not long had new disks and pads on anyway)

Ooh that's a nice mini! Really like the colour! what is it?

I reckon the mk2 lights will really suit it.

Some nice 10 inch cooper s style steel wheels (I think that's what they're called) would look amazing too.

Agreed! :) And IIRC, you don't need to downsize the brakes? :gimme:
