Couple more hours spent in the garage , finished of the passenger door with its chrome finishing strips and test fitted it

The door didn't fit too bad but I needed some really thin metal for shims but the only thing thin enough was this filler spreader so it was sacrificed to do the job...

Postie was busy today. The right size rear quarter lights came and also C4NNONs weld in seat mounts came as well though they will be for another day
Anyway got in from work and fitted the rear windows
First fitted the rubber
Posted Image
Then threaded the string into the rubber
Posted Image
Then fitted into place and the string removed and in it went

Job done

They do indeed look like nice tyres - but will they give you much traction/grip on muddy whites? (or are muddy whites a thing of the past on road rallies - just like me?!)

Well I've got through many a white on standard road tyres. People also use these for rallycross so there must be some grip but will test them myself before I do an event ( still a long way off)

I'll be interested to hear what they're like when you do,as we're going to have to find a good wet tyre for hillclimbing, & they do look like they could be good for both wet & dry tar....

Can I ask if you'll be fitting towing eyes or straps front & back to your car? If so, do you know where? I've been having a look at ours & can't really see anywhere you can. I noticed Warning634 has attached one to his sumpguard, but we think we'll probably remove ours as it won't be needed for hillclimbs. I'd have thought they'd have been required for race Mini's but can't find any pics with them fitted!

Keefr22, I have fitted mine to the front subframe as per original towing point. Most cars i've seen are like this.
I dont have one at the rear, but mate has fitted one bolted to the rear subframe, you have to cut a hole in the valance for this.

Thanks jaydee, I sort of guessed it would have to be somewhere on the subframe, but couldn't see an original tow point on there! I've ordered a couple of Haynes manuals so hope things like this will become a bit clearer!

Will try and get a picture of mine, the rear ones I was going to use some heavy duty exhaust "u" clamps mounted to the rear subframe

Was in the garage tonight and suddenly thought I'd better check for my own piece of mind that the new wheels do fit over the vented disc conversion

Close but they fit

Thanks I'd appreciate that.

I like those calipers! Apologies if you've already mentioned it, but what diameter are your discs?

K

PS I finally remembered to ask my son what rally we marshalled on, but he can't remember either, other than it was run by Gwendraeth Valley MC, not Teifi as I thought!!
