Recived the parts from the paintshop today, really nice result.
The color is old english white.

Looks like its for the fuel filler cap. Interesting placement.

The paint job does look amazing though.

This is so different to what I am interested in or forced into - cutting out rust and welding in new steel!! But this is amazing. I had looked into using a fibre glass shell from absmotorsport but chickened out over the registering and taxing. There are people on this forum that just leave you humbled, as their skills are in a different league - you are one of them. Thanks for sharing this most interesting project. Must be great to kiss goodbye to rust.

Fantastic project, we all restore our minis and when people ask did you build it yourself we say yes..........But you are actually building a whole mini yourself :lol:

How did you build the cage?

Mainly get the measurements?

They seem very accurate?


I bought a kit with bent tubes from http://www.finess.se/ then I trimmed the tubes into correct length and TIG welded them together.
The kit included all bent tubes, except the X in the roof, that one I bent self.
