Wow, very pleased I found your thread, will be subscribing.  My Elf is undergoing a similar resto at the moment, although it was originally only intended to be a re-spray!

So far I've cut out the boot floor, rear quarters, heel board, all after fitting plenty of bracing.  Have now got to investigate the floor as there appears to be at least two layers and oversills.

Good luck with the remainder.

Also got my new nuts n bolts delivered a while ago

Nuts%20n%20Bolts.jpg

George, I also need some of these as I am fully restoring my Mini and many nuts and bolts need a replacement. Further, I am in Germany and UNF and UNC nuts and bolts are not so easy to get.

Your above collection looks quite complete. Would you let us know more details? Do you have a list of what you bought? Where did you buy it?

I have been looking around for a complete set of nuts and bolts but it seems as if currently there are no one-stop-shop options around (there used to be a product called "mini in a bucket" but the company who made it seems to be out of business).

Thanks and keep up with the good work!

Andy

Finally, it's on wheels

OnWheels.jpg

Ok, so it's not the sort of wheels I'd like it to be on, but, it's now taking shape and gaining some strength

FloornPockets.jpg

floor has been welded both sides of the tunnel, inner sills, rear bins and boot floor have a few plug welds and skin pins holding it together, next job is to line up the front panels inclusive of scuttle, inner wings, outer wings and front panel, before welding together, then once those panels are sorted, it'll be new rear arch's, boot extension panel and boot extension support panels.

Hopefully the next update won't be in another 8 months time

Not much to see really, just placed panels and trying to pluck the courage up to fit/weld them, nothing is welded in place at all, just a few pop rivets holding inner wings in place, scuttle panel is just resting in place, rear bonnet corners touching the scuttle panel, at rear center of bonnet I can get one of me fat fingers in the gap, so will need a fair bit of playing around to get it sitting right

Bonnet%20n%20Front%20Panel.jpg

N/S door is holding itself open due to check strap thingy on the door hinge edge catching the A-post

NS%20Door.jpg

Door this side seems to sit quite nicely, still need to fill the large vent hole in the inner wing as it shouldn't be there

OS%20Door.jpg

B-post to door gap looking OK, I think

OS%20Door%20Gap%201.jpg

Front gap looking OK too, also repaired the original Hornet hinges this side by drilling out the old studs and welding in 2 new ones on each hinge

OS%20Door%20Gap%202.jpg

Hoping to get these panels fixed in place properly this week

Hello,

No more progress at the minute, have been working quite a bit over the last few months and been too tired to do anything, hoping for this to change now though, as am starting a new job on Monday that allows me to finish at 12:30 on Fridays, have really missed working on it. Hoping to update in the next couple of weeks.
