Have just spent 40 minutes trying to work out how to change them.

I can't get the feckers off! Can someone please help me - I don't want to use brute force and break them.

They've got a little push down clip thing - which I've pressed and pulled in every direction possible. I've never changed them before so not really sure how to get them off.

Its a 1997, if that helps. Oh forgot to add - its not the rubber bits its the whole blade part.

Please can someone help me - its driving me insane and its getting dark outside.

I quote from Haynes Manual

1 To remove the wiper blades from the arms, lift up the arms and ease back the small metal clip that secures the blade to the arm. now slide the arm off of the end

2. To refit the blade, slide in onto the arm until the retaining clip clicks into position and locks the blade in place

Hope that helps

Let us know how you get on

I even looking in my haynes manual before I posted on here, and I still can't get the feckers off.

I don't even know which direction they pull or slide off in to even use force to wrench it off.

How can something so simple be so blimin difficult - talk about frustrating!!! Grrrr :w00t:

On mine you push the back tawards the blade arm (if you get what i mean). You push it back out of the U shape at the end of the wiper arm.

Any help?

CharlieBrown, I shall try that tomorrow morning - its far to dark now and i'm just too frustrated, I think they may have rusted or welded themselves on!

Hopefully that will do the trick - if not I shall be back tomorrow! Failing that I will just have to admit I'm a complete girl and give in and ask my boyfriend to help me :erm: .... and there was me trying to be all Miss DIY!

by the way - thanks very much for all your help everyone!

To fit my new wipers I had to remove the old wiper and the little plastic bit that holds the wiper on the wiper are, remove the little plastic bit and use it to replace the little plastic bit on the new wiper (the new one didnt fit at all)

just thought id mention it.

I spotted in Halfords today (while buying fuses... see my other thread) a genuine Haynes manual entitled 'Human Being Owners Workshop Manual, for models from 120,000BC onwards'. Full of tips on how to fix common ailments, and the usual Haynes manual stuff like weekly, monthly, 3 monthly checks, etc. Made me laff anyway.

Right, i've managed get them off - hurruh!! As suggested I just pushed them back and they came off.

But I don't think the ones I bought (which are from Halfords) fit?

On the instructions it says to simply push on the bayonet fitting.

But my wiper arm, has a hook on the end of it (pic attached). Do I need to buy special ones and if so does anyone know from where.

Apologies if this is a really dumb question but I am new to cars and mini's!

This from Haynes might help

Haynes on wipers

You need to fit the correct bracket to the wiper blade and then that should clip into the hook.

Last time I triad to buy blades from halfords the ones they listed were only for the BMW MINI - before you try fitting your new ones make sure they are a similar length to ths you've taken off!!
